Another uneventful day today.
We left Jericho Camp and headed down the road with Charlotte being sick we had to make quiet a few roadside stops!! We are finally in Road Train territory YAY
A couple of spews later Charlotte fell asleep and we were able to keep motoring along the back roads to the Capricorn Highway.
We collected a few caches along the way as we drove through Bauhinia, Bluff, Dingo, Comet before stopping in Blackwater for lunch. We were amazed at the number of super long coal trains that were all banked up along the Capricorn Highway. They were impressive they had an engine then on average 50 cars then another engine, another 50 cars and then a final engine!!!!
In Comet we saw the historic Leichardt Tree Marker which was really cool. We headed West again onto Emerald, Rubyvale and Sapphire.

We arrived in Sapphire about 3pm and stopped for a quick visit at Pat's Gems to get our first fossicking attempts checked to make sure we were looking at the right things. We bought a couple of bags of wash to take with us and ordered a couple more for us and the Hawleys.
We set up camp in the free campground in the middle of town (small town with about 4 streets) and whole the kids and Roo went next door to the public swimming pool Sean and I went in search of the supermarket to get dinner items. Wow long trip we turned out of the carpark at the camp and straight into the supermarket (would have been quicker to walk!!!!!)
We returned to camp and joined the others on the pool for a quick swim before it closed (we saw the craziest thing a full grown stray white cow walking down the main street), then headed back to camp for dinner and a quiet night of doing nothing.
Tomorrow morning we are going to do a little fossicking and then we head for Longreach where we can have a hot shower and recharge the electronic batteries as well as our own.
