Watched the sunrise over Kings Canyon this morning and then had a quick breakfast and packed up the tent ready to do the Kings Canyon Rim Walk and then head down to Uluru.

Climbed 500 rock steps to the top of Kings Canyon and then spent 3 hours walking the rim of the Canyon, OMG the views, scenery and basic beauty of Kings Canyon is breathtaking definitely worth the trip. We were joined on the walk by DarzeeDi (Dianne) and ACTchil (Paul)

3.5 hours later we bid farewell to Paul and Di and hit the road for Uluru, passing through Kings Creek and Curtain Springs. We seen "Fooluru" or Mt Conner and the Salt Lake (http://pnr.ma/eUuRFE). We got to the Dunes where we were recommended to stay however it was downpouring with rain and the site looked like it was a gravel rest area right next to the highway so we continued on until we hit Yularu. We tried to get a dorm room or any other cheap accommodation other than a power tent site but everything was booked out.
With the rain easing we made the decision to keep our site booking and went in to setup the tents (bad move) just as we had the tent half unfolded the skies opened and the deluge hit, with alot of ursing and yelling at each other we got the tent into a shape that could be used for the night and then headed to the Cafe looking like drowned rats for dinner.
Off for a warm shower and bed to try and forget that this evening ever happened.
